Dusk...it could be China!

This week the Chinese garden was open to the public free of charge. I had never been there and was amazed at this beautiful, tranquil spot in the middle of one of the most neglected parts of Portland. On Tuesday I went with a friend and spent all afternoon in the tea room writing and chatting. It was such a special experience that I grabbed the boys right after school and brought them to the garden on Thursday. I will be going back soon!

Buds swelling.
A boat awaits.
Calm water reflects a surprising sky

Peace and tranquility in the middle of the city.

  1. Buds swelling!? What?? I am so amazed by Portland's moderate climate. Can't get over it. It is a frozen world here. But the snow creaks underfoot, the moon is a sharp crescent in the cold night sky and I slow down and read my sister's wonderful blog posts with time to spare. Winter here is the quiet time. Soon it will be summer and I will go to the Chinese garden with you.
