My birthday, falling as it does in early January, has always been anticlimactic. What does one give a birthday girl when it's still winter and gifts were just given two weeks earlier? Well...how about four days on the sunny beach of Southern California! I could not believe my good fortune when I was invited to join my brother Don and his family for a few days right on the beach south of Santa Barbara! Take a look!

As we sat around the table in the evening, the puzzle was the backdrop of many an interesting conversation. Little by little it got pieced together, but much to the shock and horror of the main puzzle doers, one piece was missing! No one claimed to have seen it, but I have my suspicions that someone knew where it went.....
