A New House for the Fairies

Auggie and I love our art projects and we've had a couple of wonderful art days lately. The fairies needed a new house, so Auggie designed this out of tongue depressors, transparent plastic rulers, and various odds and ends from the art box. The fairies left a note saying they loved the house and, because they also left some treats, Auggie wrote back to them.

"We want to be you!" was carefully inscribed on the roof.

Dear Fairies......"Granny, how do you spell chocolate?"
Auggie always thanks the fairies for their treats and makes sure they have a cozy home.

  1. Creating homes for the fairies. How lucky are they to have Granny's sunny apartment to spend the winter in. So many treats and treasures and letters to read. Even the moderate weather in Portland is a little too cold for the fairies. I have seen the entrances to their summer homes down the street in the base of mossy trees where holes simply welcome them in. Fairies live at The Hemlocks in Canada, too. When I was eight, I circled the entrance to their Hemlock tree homes with white stones that I collected on the stone beach by the dock. My fairies even had a small car, but I never saw them drive it.
