Can you imagine us years from today,
Sharing a parkbench quietly
How terribly strange to be seventy…
“Old Friends” -Paul Simon, (c) 1968
In 1968 I was twenty-four and could not imagine being seventy! But even then, I knew I would not be sitting on a park bench at 70! That's today! Tomorrow I will be heading to Mt. Hood for a day of skiing and a night at Timberline Lodge with my old friend who would not think kindly of sitting on a park bench either.

Happy Birthday!!! I love the rainy photo of our view - although mine is a little different.
ReplyDeleteSeventy seems no different that sixty-nine, but actually having to say "70" is very hard. Glad you've joined me in our dotyhood. Barbara B.
