I am having a heck of a time
figuring out how to format this blog. Pictures jump all over the place and I
don’t know why. However, I am determined to persevere. I want those of you I
visited to be able to get the big picture.

| June, Rob, and Sally |
Despite a very busy schedule (Blair off to Wesleyan the day
before I came and Tucker leaving to start his freshman year the following day),
June and Rob dropped the “ta-do” lists for a couple hours and gave me the royal
treatment: delicious lunch and a tour of the old ancestral home with explanations
about changes over the years. The place looked fantastic and I don’t think Granddad
and Gwy would disapprove (well perhaps the electric bill for the rink would
make them choke}. I loved seeing the hockey rink and hearing about it. This is
obviously Rob’s passion… “Because of global warming the ponds around here don’t
freeze anymore. I wanted the kids to be able to play hockey in the wintertime!”
explained ice famer Rob, “It’s pick-up hockey for all comers, Ruthie. I have
skates and sticks of every size. The kids love it and so do I.” So many people talk about what they wish
they could do. With the rink and the field across the road, Rob is living the
dream. I loved seeing what he and June have put together on that land I've known for almost seventy years. Good for them!
