Sisters Folk Festival
Sept. 2012
I don’t know what number this was, but Jim ‘n I have been comin’ to Sisters, Oregon for the summer’s end folk festival for a lot a years. Maybe six. Maybe eight. Doesn’t matter. The weekend’s weather was absolutely perfect for this venue and Jim got lucky and found a great camping spot in the Sisters City Park, a short stroll from the five different locations that had musicians playing from six on Friday evening almost non stop through Sunday afternoon.
We always find a few new singer/song writers when we go to the Folk Festival, and that’s the real fun of it. This year Abigail Washburn, Eliza Gilkyson, Sarah Lee Guthrie (Woody’s granddaughter) with husband Johnny Irion, Jude Johnstone (writer of thousands of songs sung by the likes of Emmy Lou and Johnny Cash) and, my very favorite, John Fulbright were the standouts.

I have loved hearing about Sister's Folk Festival from you over the years. Thanks for including photos and links to the musicians. I will listen to each and maybe download some of the music on my iPod.
