Mt. Rainier National Park

Mt. Rainier

Perspective

The trees
Stiff, still and silent
Pull me across the wildflower meadows
And down the mountainside
Deep into the morning fog.
The crisp green giants
Give way slowly
To soft sage replicas
That fade into ghostly renditions
Softer with distance
And smaller
And finally erased…
So like pain
That dissipates
Eventually.

Wild Lupins

Unfolding periwinkle
Reaches towards the fleeting sunlight
As roots drink fresh snow melt
And wisps of fog
Drift over the meadows.
